Step-by-Step — How to Apply

Our admission process is simple, transparent and student-friendly. Follow these 6 easy steps to secure your seat at GCE.

Step 1 — Check Your Eligibility

Before applying, verify that you meet the academic eligibility criteria for your chosen programme. For B.Tech, you need 10+2 with PCM (minimum 45% marks). For PGDM, any graduation with minimum 50% marks qualifies.

Tip: SC/ST candidates enjoy a 5% relaxation in minimum marks. Final-year students may apply provisionally.

Step 2 — Contact the Admission Cell

Step 3 — Fill the Admission Form

Collect the official GCE Admission Form. Fill in all your personal, academic and contact details accurately. Select your preferred programme (B.Tech / PGDM) and your branch / specialization of choice.

Ensure all details exactly match your academic certificates to avoid discrepancies during verification.

Step 4 — Attach All Documents

Submit the completed form along with attested photocopies of all required documents — 10th & 12th marksheets, TC, category certificate (if applicable), Aadhar card, and passport photographs.

Keep 4 sets of attested copies. Original documents are required for verification at the time of admission.

Step 5 — In-Person Document Verification

Visit the GCE campus at Kendupali, Narasinghpur, Cuttack for in-person verification of your original documents. The Admission Committee will review your application and verify eligibility on the spot.

Step 6 — Fee Payment & Enrolment

After successful document verification, pay the admission and tuition fee as per the official fee structure to confirm and lock your seat. You will then receive your Student ID card, timetable, and orientation details.

Welcome to GCE! Once fees are paid, your admission is confirmed. Attend orientation on the scheduled date.
Who Can Apply

Eligibility Criteria

Academic Eligibility — B.Tech

  • Passed 10+2 (Class XII) or equivalent from a recognised Board
  • Must have studied Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) as core subjects
  • Minimum 45% aggregate marks in PCM (40% for SC/ST/PH candidates)
  • Valid JEE Main / OJEE score is preferred but not mandatory for admission
  • Candidates appearing in final 10+2 exam may apply provisionally
  • Minimum age: 17 years as on 1st August of the admission year
  • No upper age limit for B.Tech admission

Admission Preference — B.Tech

  • Students with JEE Main / OJEE scores get merit-based consideration
  • Students with higher PCM percentage receive priority in branch allocation
  • Students from Science stream with additional subjects like Computer Science, Biology are also eligible
  • Diploma holders (Lateral Entry) may be eligible — contact admission office for details
  • Merit-based scholarships for students scoring 75%+ in 10+2 PCM

Academic Eligibility — PGDM

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.Tech., BBA, B.E. etc.) from a recognised university
  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks in graduation (45% for SC/ST/PH candidates)
  • No specific stream restriction — graduates from any discipline are eligible
  • Valid CAT / MAT / XAT / CMAT / OJEE MBA score preferred (not mandatory)
  • Final-year graduation students may apply provisionally
  • No upper age limit for PGDM admission
  • Work experience is an added advantage but not required

Admission Preference — PGDM

  • Candidates with CAT/MAT/CMAT scores receive merit-based priority
  • B.Tech graduates are particularly suited for Operations & Tech Management
  • B.Com / BBA graduates for Finance & Marketing specializations
  • Work experience in industry (1–3 years) is valued for HR & Business Management
  • Merit scholarship for students with 70%+ marks in graduation

Frequently Asked Questions

Is JEE Main / OJEE mandatory for admission to B.Tech at GCE?
No, JEE Main or OJEE score is not mandatory for B.Tech admission at GCE. However, students with valid JEE Main / OJEE scores are given preference in merit-based seat allocation and scholarship consideration. You can apply directly based on your 10+2 PCM marks.
What is the minimum percentage required for B.Tech admission?
You need a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) in your 10+2 examination. SC/ST and PH (Physically Handicapped) candidates get a relaxation of 5%, requiring a minimum of 40% in PCM.
Can a student from Commerce or Arts background apply for PGDM?
Yes, absolutely. The PGDM programme is open to graduates from all streams — B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.Tech., BBA, or any other Bachelor's degree. There is no stream restriction for PGDM. You only need a minimum of 50% marks in graduation (45% for SC/ST candidates).
Is there a hostel facility available at GCE?

Is GCE recognised by the Government? What about the degree?
Yes. GCE is fully approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), New Delhi, and affiliated to BPUT (Biju Patnaik University of Technology), Odisha. The B.Tech degree awarded is a BPUT degree — nationally recognized and accepted for higher studies (GATE, M.Tech, MBA) and employment across India and internationally.
Can I apply if I am still in Class 12 (final year)?
Yes. Students appearing in their Class 12 (10+2) final examination can apply provisionally. Your admission will be confirmed subject to meeting the minimum eligibility criteria (45% in PCM) when the final results are declared. You must submit your final marksheet within the stipulated deadline.

The medium of instruction at GCE is English, as per AICTE and BPUT norms. All lectures, examinations, assignments and projects are conducted in English. Students with Odia / Hindi medium backgrounds are actively supported through additional coaching and communication skill development programmes.
